New Delhi, Mar 9 (KNS): PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said she raised the issue of safety and return of Kashmiri students stranded in Iran during her visit to the Iranian Cultural Centre and Embassy in the national capital.
Mufti said she met Iranian representatives and urged them to ensure the safety of the students and facilitate their early return.
She said the visit was also aimed at expressing condolences to the people of Iran over the death of the country’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
“I visited the Iranian Cultural Centre and Embassy in Delhi to offer condolences to the people of Iran in these difficult times and paid tributes to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei,” Mufti said in a statement.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The PDP chief said she also discussed the situation of Kashmiri students currently in Iran and requested the authorities to ensure their safety.
She said efforts should be made to facilitate their safe and early return to India.(KNS)
