Mehbooba Mufti along with party leaders visits Nigeen Lake fire victims

Srinagar, Apr 06 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party president and former chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti visited the fire affected families at Nigeen Lake, where seven houseboats were gutted in a massive blaze. 

 
In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that Mehbooba praised the locals for risking their lives to save tourists present in the houseboats when fire engulfed their properties.
 
She also demanded immediate assistance from the government to houseboat owners, saying that soft loans, timber and other measures should be given at earliest for the early rehabilitation of the fire affected families.
 
She was accompanied by PDP senior leader Asiya Naqaash, chief spokesman Syed Suhail Bukhari, state secretaries Abdul Hameed Kohaheen, Media Coordinator Kashmir Bashir Beigh, state secretary youth Arif Laigaroo, district president Srinagar Haji Parvez Ahmad, vice-president Mir Mohd Sideeq, Ex VC and constituency in charge Eidgah Dr Ali Mohmad, constituency in charge Zadibal Asif Wangnoo, constituency in charge Batamaloo Abdul Qayoom Bhat, zonal president Mohmad Shafi Kundangar, Mohmad Maqbool Beigh, Najeeb Khan, Yousuf Abdullah, Mohmad Umer Dar.
