Srinagar, Jun 01 (KNS): Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday filed the nomination papers for Anantnag assembly constituency by polls, slated to be held in this month.
Three candidates including CM have so far filed their nomination papers while according to Chief Electoral Officer nine candidates aspiring to contest in polls have received forms.
The seat left vacant after the former Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed passed away.
Mehbooba who is also an MP from Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency will have to get elected from any of the houses of state legislature by the end of the August.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Pertinently, Hilal Ahmed Shah of Congress and Iftikhar Misgar of National Conference have filed their nomination papers while media reports suggest that Independent MLA from Language Engineer Abdul Rashid is also contemplating to fight elections from Anantnag. (KNS)
