Mega Job Fair Held At Amar Singh College

 Srinagar, May 30(KNS): Owing to the commitment of LG, Manoj Sinha led Government for providing of job to the un employed youth of Jammu and Kashmir, Labour and Employment, District Employment and Counseling Centre, Srinagar J&K, in collaboration with Career Counseling and Placement Cell of Amar Singh College, Srinagar, organized a One Day Mega Job Fair at Amar Singh College on Tuesday.

The job fair was organized aiming to provide job opportunities to the unemployed youth of the UT in private sector fields like Education, Telecom, IT, Insurance, Hospitality, Automobile, Health Care and other private sectors.  

 

The day-long job fair witnessed an overwhelming response from the youth and the private companies as more than 2500 job aspirants across the UT registered themselves for jobs in many fields with around 32 stalls of private sector companies in the fair. 

 

At the outset of the job fair, Director, Labour and Employment J&K, Mr. Nisar Ahmad Wani (JKAS) inaugurated the job fair in presence of Joint Director Employment Kashmir Hakeem Tanveer; Deputy Director Employment Srinagar, Dr. Sheeba Inayat and officers from Amar Singh College. The job fair was also graced by the Principal of the host college, Prof. (Dr) Sheikh Ajaz Bashir along with the Convener and Members of Career Counseling and Placement Cell. Prof. (Dr) Sheikh Ajaz Bashir in his address to the organizers, job providers and job aspirants, expressed his warm welcome and gratitude for organizing the job fair at the college with such an enthusiastic response from the stakeholders. 

 

He said that unemployment is a global crisis and the world has witnessed the worst phase of unemployment during the COVID-19 pandemic, which even pushed the multinational companies to close their doors for employment.

 

 He however, reiterated that the Government of India in general and UT Administration in particular is committed and striving hard to provide the jobs to the unemployed youth and so far scores have found their rooms either in the private or public sector and this mega job fair is a part of that commitment. 

 

This is worth in place to mention here that Amar Singh College, the host college for the job fair had put in place all the logistic support for the smooth function of the job fair. 

 

The college had made all necessary arrangements in a well knitted and planned manner to facilitate the fair, which ultimately resulted in the successful culmination of the job fair and was appreciated by one and all.
