MEA to Facilitate Return of Kashmiri Student Saba Rasool’s Mortal Remains from Iran

Srinagar, 16 August(KNS): The Ministry of External Affairs has assured immediate action to repatriate the mortal remains of Saba Rasool, a Kashmiri MBBS student from Safakadal, Srinagar, who tragically passed away in Iran.

Saba Rasool, a fourth-year medical student at Urmia University of Medical Sciences in Iran, died following sudden health complications, leaving her family and community devastated.

According to family sources, Saba fell ill two days prior to her death and was admitted to a hospital in Iran. “She complained about intestinal infection and backache and later started vomiting,” said a family member identifying himself as her uncle.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Despite receiving good medical care, her condition worsened rapidly. She became unresponsive and later succumbed to her illness.”

The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association has expressed deep sorrow and called for support to facilitate the swift return of her body to her hometown for the last rites.

Efforts are underway to coordinate with Iranian authorities and the Indian Embassy to expedite the repatriation process.(KNS).
