MD NHM reviews progress of 50-bedded critical care Block, integrated public health lab at GMC Kathua

Jammu, Jan 3 (KNS): Baseer Ul Haq Chaudhary, IAS, Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), Jammu & Kashmir, on Thursday visited Government Medical College (GMC), Kathua to review and monitor the progress of the 50-bedded Critical Care Block and District Integrated Public Health Lab being constructed under the Pradhan Mantri–Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM).

During the visit, the Mission Director conducted a detailed inspection of the construction works and assessed the status of civil, electrical and allied components of the projects. Emphasis was laid on adherence to prescribed timelines, quality standards and compliance with technical specifications. The executing agency was directed to expedite the pace of work and ensure completion of the projects within the approved timeframe.

Baseer Ul Haq Chaudhary stressed that the Critical Care Block is a vital healthcare infrastructure project aimed at strengthening emergency and critical care services in the region.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said that once completed, the facility will significantly enhance the capacity of GMC Kathua to manage critical patients and improve overall healthcare delivery.

Director Health Services Jammu, Principal Government Medical College Kathua, officials from GMC Kathua and representatives of the executing agency accompanied the Mission Director during the visit. A brief on-site review meeting was also held, during which bottlenecks affecting the progress of the projects were discussed and directions were issued for their immediate resolution.

The Mission Director reiterated NHM’s commitment to strengthening tertiary healthcare infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir under PM-ABHIM to ensure timely and quality healthcare services for the people.(KNS)
