Srinagar, Nov 23 (KNS): Professor Amitabh Matoo on Wednesday resigned as advisor to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
Sources while narrating the reasons of Matoo’s quitting told KNS that Matoo resigned for personal reasons. It is in place to mention here that Prof Amitabh Matoo was one of the trusted confidents of PDP founder and late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Matoo was appointed vice chancellor Jammu University during the first stint of Chief Minister ship of late PDP founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who was then heading PDP-Congress coalition government in the State.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelMatoo was later appointed as advisor to former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed immediately after oath taking in March 2015. After the death of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed the incumbent Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti too appointed Matoo as her advisor but Matoo surprisingly resigned as advisor to Chief Minister. (KNS)
