Massive overnight blaze guts 10 wooden residential houses, partially damages 21 in Tulail

Bandipora, Dec 01 (KNS): At least ten residential houses were completely gutted, while 21 other houses were partially damaged in a massive blaze in Tatri locality of Kilshey village in Tulail Valley of north Kashmir's Bandipora district late last night, officials said here. 

Official sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS), that fire broke out in Tatri locality of Tulail in Gurez sub-division, in which following at least 10 residential log houses were completely gutted and around 21 houses got partially damaged.

They said that those houses which were completely gutted in the massive blaze include double story residential houses of Mohammad Anwar Khan, Mohammad Amin Khan, Rahim Khan, Ghulam Nabi Lone, Subhan Khan, Ahad Khan, single story residential houses of Gafoor Lone, Juma Khan, Habibullah Khan, Mohammad Ismail Lone, Reyaz Khan and an anganwadi center which was in the house of Abdul Rahim Khan. 

They said that the houses which were partially damaged include single story residential houses of Hassan Khan, Mustafa Lone, Ahad lone s/o Gafoor Lone, Yousuf lone, Aziz Lone, Khushi Lone, Ashraf Lone, Ghulam Khan, Gh Nabi Khan, Jumma khan, Rafiq khan, Javaid Khan, Reyaz Khan, Ahad Khan, Hassan Khan, Sultan Lone, Yousuf Lone, Ghulam Lone, Aziz Khan, Sonaullah Khan and double story residential house of Gulzar Lone. 

The officials said that, however, no loss of life was reported in the incident, while fire was brought under control by locals of adjoining villages, police and Army as fire tenders could not reach to the spot due to narrow roads. 

Meanwhile, an official said that SDM Gurez, Dr Mudasir Wani, Tehsildar Tulail along with revenue team reached to the fire affected village with immediate relief from Redcross fund.

He said that the revenue team will also assess the loss and submit the report to concerned quarters, while temporary rehabilitation and shifting will also be arranged wherever required. (KNS)
