Masoodi discusses various Developmental Issues with Chief Secretary

Srinagar June 07:(KNS) Member Parliament Anantnag and JKNC Leader Hasnain Masoodi today in a meeting with the Chief Secretary Arun Mehta raised various developmental issues pertaining to education, healthcare, agriculture, horticulture and issues related to road connectivity. 

Masoodi demanded that work on Mughal Road Tunnel for which the DPR is already reportedly prepared should be commenced forthwith so that it acts as a parallel lifeline for the valley and all weather connectivity is achieved. He also asked for survey on initial work on Kapran Dessu tunnel which is likely to be used as the third major connectivity between Jammu and Kashmir province. 

Masoodi also demanded to expand the 1000 lpm oxygen manufacturing unit in district hospital, set up a women’s college at Kokernag and Shangus and a Degree College and Polytechnic at Khrew. He also highlighted the need for strengthening the healthcare manpower at the same time.

Masoodi informed that commercial processing fruit units and cold storage facilities have been set up at D H Pora and Gopalpora but only 3% of the fruit produced is commercially processed. He emphasised that it needs to be atleast taken up to the 30% of the total fruit produced. He also stressed on declaring Achabal as an important tourist destination. (KNS)
