Masoodi calls on RM Rajnath Singh, seeks his intervention in tracing Abdul Rashid Dar

New Delhi Dec 23 (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Member of the Parliament from Anantnag Retd. Justice Hasnain Masoodi on Friday called on Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and asked him to intervene in the disappearance of Abdul Rashid Dar, who has gone missing after being picked up by the army in Kunan Poshpora area of Kupwara district.

Masoodi asked the Union Defence Minister to intervene in the case and help the family trace their son Abdul Rashid Dar amidst serious apprehensions about his safety. “41 Rashtriya Rifles (RR)  on December picked Rashid on December 15 from his home but has since disappeared with the forces claiming that he escaped from custody. His family was told that he is being taken for questioning.

The army's version of the disappearance is unconvincing and inconsistent with that of the family, who do not believe that  Rashid could have escaped from the camp, where hundreds of forces are deployed. A sinking feeling of panic has gripped the family and the entire area,” he said. (KNS)
