Man held with Illicit liquor in Sopore, vehicle seized

Sopore, Feb 19 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police in Sopore town of north Kashmir's Baramulla district held a man with illicit liquor, while the vehicle has also been seized, said an official said here on Sunday afternoon. 

An official told the Kashmir News Service on specific inputs, the vehicle bearing registration Number JK04B-9591 was stopped at a NAKA checking, upon due checking, 01- Old Adventurer Rum 750 ML 10 bottles, 02- Old Adventurer Rum 370 ML 10 bottles,  03- Kerala malted whiskey 375ML 04 bottles, 04- Kerala malted whiskey 180 ML , 05- Old Monk XXX Rum 750 ML 01 bottle, besides 06- kingfisher Beer 500Ml 15 Tin were recovered which was concealed in the vehicle to avoid being noticed by the police during checking.

The arrestee was identified as Farooq Ahmed Ganie son of Ghulam Nabi Ganie of Bunpora Langate in Handwara, the official said. Adding that a vehicle was also seized. 

Meanwhile, a Case FIR 25/2023 U/S 48 Excise act in this regard has been registered in Police Station Sopore and further investigation is underway.(KNS)
