Maloora Residents Appeal Admin To Cut Down Female Russian Poplar Trees

Srinagar, Apr 06 (KNS): Inhabitants of Touheed Abad Maloora area of Shalteng Srinagar on Monday appealed authorities cut down all female Russian poplar trees in their locality as it poses serious threat to the residents in wake of Covid-19 pandemic.

Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that hundreds of Russian poplar trees are around in the area and the residents have demanded their immediate cut down so that Covid-19 pandemic could not nurture.

The residents of the area said that dozens of Russian poplar trees are in the surroundings of private educational institutions which poses constant threat to the children to get infected.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Pertinently Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole, on Friday chaired a meeting to discuss the pollen related infections in wake of the spread of COVID19 and to work out a strategy. He directed all Deputy Commissioners (DCS) and officers concerned to enforce complete ban on plantation and growing of female Russian poplar trees in private nurseries in compliance of the High Court orders.
