Srinagar, Dec 18 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Sunday condemned the siege laid around the residence of the party chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and ‘deployment of police on motor cycles that are always chasing JKLF chairman wherever he goes.’
In a statement issued to KNS, the JKLF spokesman said that “Though Yasin’s residence is under siege from last many weeks now but from last few days many police personal in civil have who are always cashing him.”
He said that these police personal in civvies are seen following him where ever he goes and this has not only threatened his security, privacy but also jeopardised the safety of those friends and relatives to whom Malik goes to meet.
Terming such acts as ‘worst kind of hooliganism’, the spokesman said that “this new police tactic to stop Yasin from meeting people is not acceptable and it is actually a threat to his safety, security, privacy and family life.”
He said that after choking every little space on peaceful politics, the rulers and their police are now moving further ahead and choking and disturbing even privacy and family life of Kashmiris especially JKLF chairman.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
JKLF said that this police hooliganism cannot be tolerated and JKLF besides looking for other possible options is also going to move court of law against this police highhandedness.
“In this regard JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik today met with the president of Bar Association, Advocate Mian Abdul Qayoom and decided to move court tomorrow in this connection,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Malik expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the demise of mother of Muhammad Maqbool Ilahi, and veteran Kashmiri poet and intellectual, Ghulam Nabi Firaq.
JKLF chairman today visited the bereaved family of Ghulam Nabi Firaq and expressed solidarity with his bereaved family and prayed for his heavenly abode.
According to the statement, JKLF chairman then travelled to Machowa where he visited the bereaved Ilahi family and expressed condolences on the demise of their mother.
Terming the death of this great lady as a personal loss, JKLF chairman said that “Maqbool Ilahi was a great son of soil and today when his mother has died we all share this grief and sorrow and pray to Allah almighty for her heavenly abode.” (KNS)
