‘Sacrifices of Khateeb, others symbolize sanctity of our freedom struggle’
Srinagar, Feb 21 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik on Tuesday said that the sacrifices of martyrs like Pilot Nadeem Khateeb and others symbolize the sanctity and authority of the freedom struggle.
In a statement issued to KNS, JKLF chief while paying tributes to Khateeb on his anniversary said, “We salute a man who was leading a well settled life in USA and sacrificed his life for the sacred cause and wrote an inerasable page of valor, dignity and oblation.”
Recalling the sacrifices and struggle of Khateeb, JKLF chairman said that he was a great son of soil who left lavishness of life for ‘Deen I Mubeen’ strived for the freedom of his nation and sacrificed his life for the same cause.
JKLF chairman said that Nadeem was a born revolutionary. “He along with his childhood friend Shaheed I Kashmir Ishfaq Majeed Wani started the struggle right from their school days at Tyndale Biscoe School and both embraced martyrdom for the just cause,” Malik said.
JKLF Chairman said that the sacrifice of Khateeb who was leading a lavish life in America actually is answer to all those who club the freedom struggle of Kashmiris with poor economy, unemployment and at times dub people in resistance as miscreants or mislead people.

He said, “Today when we recall the struggle and sacrifices of Khateeb, we pledge to take forward their mission to its desired goal.”
Condemning the arrest of JKLF leaders Zahoor Ahmad Butt, zonal deputy general secretary Farooq Ahmad Dar of Watergam, and Sharif ud din Shah of Shupian, JKLF chairman said, “Incarcerating peaceful political leaders and activists is undemocratic and illegal.”
The JKLF spokesman said that Farooq Ahmad Dar was arrested by police some days back while as Zahoor Ahmad Butt was arrested by police at Sopore two days back. “Both are lodged at police station Kupwara now. JKLF senior Sharif ud din was arrested from Kigam Shupian and is now lodged at police station Shupian,” the JKLF spokesman said.
While terming the arrest of trio as highly condemnable, JKLF chairman appealed ICRC and other international human rights organizations to take note of the plight of Kashmiri prisoners and use their good offices to save the lives of these inmates.
Meanwhile, JKLF chairman expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of brother of Amjad of Mazhama Budgam.
JKLF seniors Muhammad Ramzan and Molvi Abdul Rashid met with the bereaved family and expressed condolences to them. (KNS)
