Malik condemns police ‘threats’ to JKLF activists

Pays tributes to Bijbehara slain militants

Srinagar, Jan 16 (KNS): Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik Monday strongly condemned the ‘ongoing police oppression’ on JKLF activists in south Kashmir.
While terming ‘police attitude’ against peaceful political activists as ‘most callous’, JKLF chairman in a statement issued to KNS said, “Police in Yaripora Kulgam is intimidating JKLF district president Abdul Sattar and office bearer Nazir Ahmad on daily basis. JKLF district president is being asked to present himself before police and yesterday police raided the residence of office bearer Nazir Ahmad at Badroo Yaripoa and threatened to vandalize his house if he fails to present himself before police.”
He said that similarly Achabal police is also looking for Master Akram and intimidating him and his family.
JKLF chief while condemning the ‘oppressive’ attitude of police especially against JKLF activists and office bearers said, “Police in its pursuit to prove itself more loyal than the king has crossed every limit of oppression. In fact the whole state has been turned into police state and has been given a free hand to suppress every voice of dissent.”
He said that though various JKLF activists and leaders including JKLF zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, District president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya), JKLF activists Fayaz Ahmad Mir of Gander bal, Shabir Ahmad Ganaie of Kakapora Pulwama, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir of Kupwara, Assadullah Sheikh of Kulgam, Molvi Reyaz of Sopore, Muhammad Ishaaq Malik Kokernagh, Sahib Khan Trehgam, Master Muhammad Ibrahim of Wilgam Kupwara of etc are in jails under PSA and JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi is under continues house arrest but still police at the behest of the rulers seems hell bent upon terrorizing JKLF leaders and activists unabated.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
JKLF chairman said that threats and intimidations and police terrorism will never succeed in breaking the will of Kashmiri people and our march towards freedom will continue despite this highhandedness.
Meanwhile, JKLF paid rich tributes to slain militants identified as Adil Ahmed Reshi of Bijbehara, Abid Ahmed Sheikh of Saktipora and Masood Ahmed Shah of Bewoora who were killed in a gunfight at Awoora area on yesterday and expressed solidarity with their bereaved family.
JKLF while paying rich tributes to slain militants said that “these young Kashmiris are sacrificing their lives for the sacred cause and as a nation we are indebted to these sacrifices and pray to Allah almighty to fulfill the mission of these great martyrs.”
While strongly condemning the onslaught on people in Bijbihara in which dozens of innocents including a photojournalist Bilal Bahadur have been injured, JKLF said, “Even mourning and burying our loved ones is not allowed by the rulers which is highly condemnable.” (KNS)
