Srinagar, Feb 16 (KNS): Arresting veteran intellectual, teacher, social and human rights activist Abdul Rehman Geelani on concocted charges speaks volumes about mental incapacity and intolerant behavior of Indian rulers. This is a glaring example of dictatorship under the garb of democracy. Intimidations to veteran leader and chairman APHC (G) Syed Ali shah Geelani is like intimidating nation of Kashmir and Kashmiris will never budge before such ridiculous threats of underworld goons.
This was stated by the ailing incarcerated chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued from hospital bed today. while reacting to the news of arresting professor Abdul Rehman Geelani in Delhi, Yasin Malik who is still in police custody and admitted at Florence hospital said that detaining a well known teacher, social and human rights activist that too on some concocted charges is a glaring example of intolerant mindset of Indian rulers and this act speaks volumes about the mental incapacity of authorities who are hell bent upon crushing every voice of dissent. Yasin Malik said that closing down voices of dissent by force and slapping charges like sedition on political opponents’ has been an old poly of oppressive regimes . Hence everyone knows the validity and authenticity of false and concocted charges slapped on him. Yasin Malik said that every Kashmiri stands behind professor Geelani in this hour of need. He urged international community and civil society to raise their voices for professor Geelani and JNU students and teachers who are target of chauvinist’s forces and some sections of biased Indian media. While condemning the section of Indian media that is spreading hatred against Kashmiris and have become self styled judges passing orders and comments freely, Yasin Malik said that the biased approach of these media channels shows that these people have sold out their conscience and mind. While condemning the threats from some underworld goons to veteran leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Yasin Malik said that this is a threat to all Kashmiris and we want to tell these goons and people who are actually behind them that Kashmiris who have sacrificed Lakhs of person for freedom cannot be intimidated by these absurd threats. It is worth to mention that JKLF chairman is still in police custody and is admitted in Florence hospital. His fever is still high and doctors are constantly looking after him.
