Says Kupwara killings glaring example of this fact

Srinagar, Apr 18 (KNS): While accusing Unionist politicians for providing “legal cover to Indian forces”, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation front (JKLF) chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik on Monday said the killings at Kupwara and Handwara is a “glaring example of this fact”.
“The reign of terror and spree of arrests after Handwara and Kupwara killings shows that Jammu Kashmir is a police state,” Malik, who is under continuous detention from April 10 along with other JKLF leaders, said in a statement issued to KNS.
“The ugly game that is being played in Kupwara and Handwara from last seven days and the way people of these areas are being subjected to worst oppression after coldblooded murders of five innocents, and above all the hypocritical politics that is being played there by pro-India politicians, assembly members and so-called rulers has once again proved the fact that these pro-India politicians can go down to any limit for their lust of power,” Malik said.
“This has yet again exposed the fact that these pro-India assembly members, politicians and rulers are strategic assets of Indian army, forces and agencies and their main job is to protect, safeguard and provide legal cover to the crimes of these occupational forces,” he added.
He said that within the span of three days, five innocents were murdered in “cold blood by Indian occupation army and police and immediately occupational authorities and these pro-India politicians started cooking up stories to protect killers and murderers and initiated a debate on whether the protest was justified or not justified.”
Malik further said, “All these things are done to cover up the crimes of Indian forces and this is yet another glaring example of these pro-India politicians being strategic assets of Indian army.” “On one hand, they kill our kith and kin and on the other hand put us under curfew choking space in the name of so-called democracy”, adding that this was and is being done to divert attention from the ‘cold blooded’ killings of five innocents and legalize the crimes of Indian occupational forces.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Malik asked that if so-called rulers are convinced that their forces had done nothing then what for are they making announcements of so-called probes and investigations?.
He asked that “how can tyrants, killers and murderers judge their own crimes and investigate them.”
While condemning the ‘ongoing oppression’ against students, youth and protesters across the valley especially after Handwara/ Kupwara killings, Malik said that at Kangan police after taking hundreds of youth in custody stone pelted hundreds of residential houses, cars, and business centers. “Same story is being repeated at Baramullah , Sopore, Handwara, Kupwara, Bandipora, Srinagar, HMT, Shalteng, Tral, Pulwama, Islamabad and at other places . Hundreds of young boys and kids have been arrested and from many places reports of asking for ransom are also reaching our offices,” he said.
Malik said that on one hand they kill our kith and kin and on the other hand put us under curfew and restrictions and choke every little space in the name of so-called democracy.
Malik said, “So-called rulers should bear in mind that their crimes against humanity are note and day is not far away when they will have to answer for their crimes.”
Meanwhile JKLF paid rich tributes to ‘great martyr’ and pro-freedom leader S Hamid.
Recalling his struggle and sacrifices, a JKLF spokesperson said, “Shaheed S Hamid was a great son of soil and his sacrifices will always be remembered.” (KNS)
