Chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik and vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi have been placed under house arrest.
Police also tried to arrest JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad kalwal and zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri who evaded arrest.
Police last late night cordoned the residence of JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik and placed him under house arrest.
Police also placed JKLF vice chairman Showkat Bakhshi under house arrest at Bemina. Police raided the residence of Zonal organizer basher Kashmniri and were looking for Zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal also.
According to a statement issued to KNS, while condemning strongly crackdown against resistance camp and trader bodies, arrests, house arrests, curfew and restrictions imposed by so-called rulers, JKLF incarcerated chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik said that these illegal and undemocratic acts of the rulers have exposed them and it has been proved beyond doubt that PDP/BJP government can cross any limits in their Kashmir animosity.
He said that today’s oppressive acts have also proved the mufti led government is suffering from mental degradation and they have no honor for democracy and peace.
While condemning police crackdown against resistance camp and trade bodies and taking trader leaders Mohammad Yasin Khan, Showkat Ahmad Chowdry, advocate Muhammad Sadiq Baqal, Deen Muhammad in custody, JKLF incarcerated chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik said that present rulers through these arrests, restrictions, curfew and other oppressive measures have broken all previous records of suppression.
While condemning the police assault on Kashmir traders and manufacturers federation protest at Lal Chowk today in which dozens have been arrested, Mohammad Yasin Malik said that September 2014, floods that devastated the valley, were a natural calamity of great magnitude.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThese floods changed the history of Kashmir and devastated thousands of families.
He said that among the worst hit were the traders of the valley as floods entered the main shopping and trading markets and economically devastated these business.
Mohammad Yasin Malik said that whenever these kinds of natural calamities hit any nation or area, international community rising above political and religious distinctions rushes to support the affected people. He said that United Nations has a separate department to deal with these aid operations.
Mohammad Yasin Malik said that in 2005, Azad Kashmir was hit by a deadly earthquake and it was international community that came with relief and rehabilitated and reconstructed that whole area.
Mohammad Yasin Malik said that Kashmir being a disputed territory and because Indians consider Kashmir as a conquered land, our subjugated nation could not get this international aid as Indian authorities refused to give permission and entry to this international aid.
JKLF chairman said that ironically Indian authorities and its Kashmiri stooges despite tall claims did nothing to uplift the affected people and from last one year only lip services are being done in this regard.
Mohammad Yasin Malik said that Monday when Kashmiris and affected traders and businessmen tried to organize a program to recall the ordeal of September 2014, rulers have used their weapon of oppression and suppression against them.
Mohammad Yasin Malik while congratulating people on their organized protest strike said that this situation demands unity from us and today we all shall stand united and protest against this apathy of Indian rulers. (KNS)
