Srinagar, May 29 (KNS): Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday mentioned the role of previous government over vacating Army from Tosa Maidan and said that making Tosamaidan a tourist destination was my father’s dream.
Addressing a gathering in Tosamaidan, Mehbooba said that they will never allow concrete construction in the meadow. “The picturesque Tosamaidan meadow wouldn’t be turned into a concrete jungle as has unfortunately happened with other tourist resorts of state,” she said.
“Every initiative on part of tourism department will be taken keeping in view the local economy and in the beginning fifty local Kothawalas would provide the facilities to those visiting the meadow,” she said, adding that training will also be given to the Kothawalas.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
She also said that the circuit will be promoted for niche tourist activities like paragliding, trekking skiing, boating and mountaineering.
Secretary tourism, Farooq Ahmad Shah told KNS that whatever Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has said, they will implement it in letter and spirit. “Whatever she today said we will implement it at earliest,” Shah said. (KNS)
