Make all Primary Health Centres as Mini Covid Centres: Sadhotra

SRINAGAR,17 May (KNS): National Conference senior leader, Sadotra on Monday asked the government to make all primary health centres as mini Covid centres.
In a press statement issued here to Kashmir news service (KNS) Ajay Kumar Sadhotra Former Minister and Senior National Conference Leader have expressed its serious concern over the steep rise in deaths due to the unprecedented surge in Covid-19, in Jammu and the number of newly infected cases in the state. The situation is very grave. He said it is time to act not only to deliberate and meetings and meetings. He urged the Govt.
to establish mini Covid Care Centres at all Primary Health Centres in the state to provide level I and Level
II facilities in all Primary Health Centres so that people need immediate oxygen after being infected and mini Covid Care Centres Could give common man immediate relief.
A task force consisting of Senior Doctors be constituted in the Jammu Division and Kashmir Division.
The health care system be decentralized and Ward Control rooms are made so that the families of the infected patients could know about their patients and the wards are not overcrowded. Mr Sadhotra urged.
He also emphasized the need of door to door testing. Health Care System itself says RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) is not much reliable and they say that RT-PCR is reliable. It is unfortunate that in private RT-PCR test report comes within an hour but in the Govt system, it takes more than 12-24 Hours and thus treatment of COVID starts 12-24 hours late. Microbiological Laboratory for RT-PCR Test be made at every block level to avoid delay in testing and to encourage common people for testing.
He further said that there are a much large number of deaths than the actual reported. There is a trust deficit in the present health care system through the Doctors and Para Medicals and other front line warriors are doing their best but the common people have mistrust and are afraid of going to Hospitals resulting in a large number of deaths that are unnoticed and unreported. There is also a need to improve the working condition of health care front line workers so that they could perform better. It is high time to instil confidence in common man viz Government Health Care System.
The control room for oxygen is alright but after getting a permit the patient/attendant has to move a long distance to collect the oxygen cylinder. He urged the Govt to make a central godown of medical oxygen cylinders, just near the control room so that the needed could get oxygen at the earliest, he suggested.
In the second wave, the Govt. was caught unaware resulting in a large number of deaths but now Govt should awaken and take effective measures to make all preparations for 3rd wave as the Medical experts day in and day out are warning of 3rd wave in order to save the lives of common people, he asserted.(KNS)
