Rajouri, July 27 (KNS): A major tragedy was averted in Kotranka area of Rajouri district when a LPG gas cylinder caught fire accidentally in the main market. 

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that gas cylinder was immediately thrown on the road to avoid major loss that could have happened due to its blast.

He said that the cylinder fire was immediately doused off by the by the local administration with the help of locals.

Kotranka has no fire tenders and it took more than two hours for a fire tender to reach Kotranka from Rajouri.

The locals later held a protest demonstration against unavailability of fire tenders in the area.  

Later ADC Kotranka Surinder Mohan Sharma , SHO and Tehsildar Kotranka reached to the spot and assured the agitating locals to raise their demand with the high authorities, following which the locals called off the protest. (KNS)
