Sewage Plant, Drainage System, Hospital Prioritized

SRINAGAR, JAN 24 (KNS): Ahead of the budget session, Sopore legislator Irshad Rasool Kar revealed on Saturday that a series of high-impact development projects for his constituency were prioritized during direct pre-budget consultations chaired by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Speaking with news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), the National Conference MLA stated that while a broad spectrum of Sopore's developmental challenges was thoroughly reviewed, the government's immediate focus must pivot towards several urgent public demands.

MLA Kar said the foremost priorities remain the decongestion of Sopore town, the improvement of its pivotal fruit mandi—a critical artery of Kashmir's economy—and the immediate upgradation of Sopore Hospital to address longstanding healthcare deficiencies.

The legislator emphasized the pressing need for special financial packages to fund a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and a comprehensive deep drainage system, projects deemed vital for urban infrastructure and public health.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

MLA Kar added that a special package for promoting tourism and eco-tourism in the constituency also featured prominently in the discussions, aiming to unlock a new sector of economic growth.

The MLA made it clear that issues central to the livelihoods of his constituents—including horticulture support and irrigation facilities, alongside other pending developmental works—would be vigorously raised on the floor of the upcoming Assembly session.

MLA Irshad Rasool Kar said the forthcoming session would be squarely focused on people-centric issues, ensuring that the concerns and development agenda of the Sopore constituency receive the paramount attention they deserve from the government. (KNS)
