Made an effort to rationalize, reservation in line with commitment to people: CM Omar Abdullah

Srinagar December 3 (KNS) Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that an effort was made to rationalize the reservation policy in the line they had made commitment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to reporters as per KNS, CM Omar Abdullah said the cabinet tried to ensure that there should be no injustice to anyone. “Effort was made to rationalize the reservation in the way we had promised to the people. Effort was also made to ensure that there should be no injustice to anyone,” he said.

He ssaid that he would not comment on specific decisions before the minutes of the meeting are signed and forwarded to the Lieutenant Governor office.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The issue required careful handling as it often becomes a subject of political reactions. According to him, the government took time because the matter invites immediate criticism and public pressure from different sides, he said.

He said some had earlier questioned the government’s silence on reservation, while others are now warning of protests depending on the final outcome.

Omar Abdullah said the cabinet followed a clear and fair procedure while dealing with the reservation agenda and the other issues placed before it.(KNS)
