Srinagar, Mar 17 (KNS): National Conference senior leader and MP from Baramulla constituency Muhammad Akbar Lone on Tuesday raised the issue of release of detainees languishing in prisons in and outside J&K.
According to statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), while speaking in Lok Sabha, Lone said, “Majority of people who are languishing in jails outside J&K belong to poorer families who are worried for their safety due to economic constraints.
Lone said, “Such families cannot visit outside J&K to meet their dear ones.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe Corona sprawl is also one of the reasons they cannot think of moving outside home. I therefore impress upon the home minister to ensure release of all detainees without any delay. Any further delay will push the families of those languishing in jails to undue trepidation. Moreover there can be no total redemption of situation unless all detainees are released forthwith”. (KNS)
