Bandipora 28 May ( KNS): Two bear cubs were spotted inside a cave by local residents here in Gamroo Bandipora area of the district on Friday afternoon.
Reports reaching Kashmir news service (KNS) said that two bear cubs were found trapped inside a cave nearby a residential area in Gamroo Papchan Nallah of bandipora.
The locals, as per reports, believe that the trapped cubs may have been part of a sloth, however, no other member (bear) has been spotted around so far.
Meanwhile, the Wildlife Department has been intimated by the locals even as the rescue operations have been already set in to retrieve the trapped cubs.
An official of the wild department said that locals informed us and we have taken cubs in our custody, adding that we have used cages to trace bear, though it is yet to be confirmed as to how the cubs landed there.(KNS)
