KUPWARA, Mar 7 (KNS) ; The Indian Army will organize a Defence Porter recruitment rally in the Machhal sector of Kupwara district from March 29 to April 2, 2026, officials said on Saturday.
The drive aims to enroll youth from the Keran Bowl, Machhal Valley, and surrounding villages situated along the Line of Control (LoC).
"The Defence Porter role involves assisting the Army in logistical support and transportation of essential supplies in the challenging terrain of remote border areas," an official spokesperson said.
The initiative is part of the Army's efforts to empower local communities and foster civil-military cooperation in the border district.
