Live streaming of launch of AB-PM JAY SEHAT scheme by PM held across Kashmir


Srinagar December 26:(KNS) The live streaming of the launch of government’s flagship Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was today held across the Kashmir division.

The live streaming of the launching ceremony was facilitated by the district administration across Kashmir division at respective district headquarters, subdivision, block and tehsil levels besides at Medical blocks of the district.

AB-PM JAY SEHAT is a flagship programme envisaged to provide health insurance cover to each family across Jammu and Kashmir up to Rs 5 lakh in empanelled Government and Private Hospitals of the country.

At Ganderbal: The District Administration Ganderbal facilitated live telecast of the launch of AB-PMJAY SEHAT scheme at Conference Hall Mini Secretariat, here.

The main function was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal and Senior Superintendent of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal, President SMC Ganderbal, CPO, CMO and other district Officers and officials were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC highlighted the significance of this Health insurance policy and said that all beneficiaries of the district irrespective of their socio-economic status will be covered under the scheme.

He deliberated upon the initiatives taken by the District Administration for revival of the health sector in the district and also revealed that Dialysis Centre and Blood Bank at District Hospital shall be made operational soon.

Later Sehat Cards were also distributed among the beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, newly elected DDC's, BDC's, ULB members, Sarpanchs besides a large number of beneficiaries also attended the programme.

At Budgam: The District Administration in collaboration with the Health department Budgam organised an impressive function to facilitate the live streaming of the launch of PM-JAY Sehat Scheme at District Headquarters.

The function was organized under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza and attended by ADC Budgam, Dr. Nasir Lone, CMO Budgam Dr. Tajamul Hussain Khan and other District and Sectoral officers.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC appreciated the overwhelming presence of all concerned and for the hassle free arrangements executed by the concerned departments.

He said the Scheme has been launched for all residents of J&K and about 1.50 lac households of Budgam district belonging to different economic categories will take advantage of this cashless treatment facility upto Rs. 5 lacs .

He said till date about 2 lac souls have been registered through CSCs and other mediums to receive Golden Cards.

At the conclusion about 50 beneficiaries received the golden cards distributed on the occasion by DC in presence of distinguished guests present on the occasion.

Among others, recently elected DDCs, BDC Budgam, Parnewa, President MC Budgam Sarpanchs and Panchs attended the function.

At Pulwama: The Health Department Pulwama today organised a mega live streaming event during the e-launch of AB-PMJAY SEHAT scheme at DC Office complex here.

The function was presided over by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer and attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, SP Pulwama, Chief Medical Officer, District Information Officer, Newly Elected DDC members, Officers and officials of Health Department and other concerned officers and officials of the district.

At the outset DDC informed the participants about the benefits of the scheme and said a health cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per year will be provided on floater basis to the residents of the district in more than 23000 public and private health institutions.

He enjoined upon the field functionaries to adopt IEC methodology and best practices in creating awareness and motivating the potential beneficiaries so that targets are achieved within stipulated time.

It was informed that a total of 1,20,000 beneficiaries out of 6,30,000 have been registered under Ayushman Bharat- Pradhanmantri Jan Arogya Yojna by CSC centres, while as 38000 golden cards have been issued so far and more than 200 CSC centers are functional across the district to register the beneficiaries.

Later, DDC distributed Golden Cards among the various beneficiaries.

At Anantnag: A mega event was organized under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, K K Sidha by the Health Department to facilitate live launch of AB-PMJAY SEHAT scheme at Dak-Bungalow Khanabal.

The DDC in his address gave a brief about the AB – PMJAY SEHAT scheme adding that all residents of Jammu & Kashmir, irrespective of their socio economic status, will be covered under the scheme.

He said that PMJAY is the world’s largest health insurance/ assurance scheme fully financed by the government and provides a cover of Rs.5 lac per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization across public and private empanelled hospitals in India.

The Dc said that the benefit of Rs. 5 lac is on a family floater basis, which means that it can be used by one or all members of the family. It covers medical procedures such as oncology, cardiology, nephrology etc and up to three days of pre hospitalization and fifteen days post hospitalization expenses such as diagnostic and medicines are also included in the scheme.

The DDC on the occasion issued PM JAY Golden Health cards among various beneficiaries of the district.

The event was attended by ADC all district and sectoral officers, DDCs, BDCs, ULB members, Panchs, Sarpanchs and Asha workers.

At Baramulla: A grand function was organised to witness the launch of the health scheme under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo at Dak bungalow here.

On the occasion, senior officers of police and civil administration viz ADDC, SSP, President MCB, CMO, newly elected DDC members, BDC Chairperson, PRIs, health workers among other concerned stakeholders participated in the programme.

Highlighting the objectives of the scheme, Dr Itoo said that the scheme will operate in insurance mode in convergence with PM-JAY adding that the benefits of the scheme will be portable across all the empanelled hospitals enlisted under the insurance scheme.

Later, during the function the DDC distributed golden cards among the beneficiaries of the district.

Meanwhile, the participants carefully listened to the speech of the Prime Minister who delivered a special address after launching the scheme.

At Bandipora: A momentous function was organised under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad at district headquarters to facilitate live launch of SEHAT scheme.

While speaking on the occasion, DC congratulated residents for getting eligible for health insurance cover and stated that any resident of the district can get his golden card by visiting the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) to get registered.

Dr. Owais informed that more than 20,000 registrations have been completed so far and further instructed CSC teams and Doctors to ensure speedy registration of beneficiaries on the portal and directed for conducting of Block Level Registration Camps on mission mode to ensure cent percent coverage of the scheme.

He said 52 CSCs are functional across the district wherein people register themselves for availing benefits under the scheme.

At the end the DC Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad distributed around 2000 Golden cards among poor beneficiaries out of total 18000 registered beneficiaries on the portal.

During the event newly elected members of DDC, Senior Superintendent of Police, Rahul Malik, ADC Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Joint Director Planning, ACR Bandipora, CMO, and other officers and officials besides a large audience from different areas of Bandipora attended the function.

At Kupwara: The District Administration in collaboration with the Health Department Kupwara organized two mega district level events and 10 subdivision and block level events in the district to facilitate live telecast of launching of the SEHAT scheme.

The main function held at Conference Hall, DC Office was presided over by Member Parliament, Fayaz Ahmad Mir and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg, ADC, CMO and other officers were also present on the occasion.

While addressing the gathering MP, Fayaz Ahmad Mir stressed the need to reach out to all the people irrespective of their life standard so that cent percent coverage is achieved in a time bound manner.

Speaking at the event, the DC said that the flagship programme has a vast ambit to cover all families of the district apart from their socio economic growth and status and every family is eligible to avail Medicare facilities up to Rs 5 lakh in empanelled Government and Private Hospitals of the country through this insurance cover.

At the conclusion of the function, MP and DC distributed Health cards among the 100 beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, newly elected District Development Council (DDC) members, BDC Chairpersons, PRIs, 100 health insurance beneficiaries and others concerned besides a large gathering of people from different areas of the district attended the function.

At Shopian: A function was organised under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin to facilitate streaming of the launch of SEHAT scheme at the district headquarter.

The DDC while addressing the gathering briefed them about the benefits of the AB-PM JAY SEHAT scheme. He directed the concerned to ensure cent percent registration of the beneficiaries under the scheme within the given time.

On the occasion the DDC distributed as many as 300 Golden Cards among the beneficiaries of the district.

Among others the event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Chief Medical Officers, all the district and sectoral officers besides beneficiaries of the district.

At Kulgam: A grand function was presided over by Member Parliament Rajya Sabha, Nazair Ahmad Laway at DIET complex, Kulgam.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, ADDC, ADC, JD-Planning CMO and other officers also attended the programme

Speaking on the occasion, the MP highlighted the significance of this health scheme and said that the scheme will benefit the people of Union Territory of J&K. He emphasized upon the concerned to ensure cent percent coverage of the beneficiaries of the district under the scheme.

The DC while addressing the gathering said that with the launch of AB-PMJAY- SEHAT, all beneficiaries of the district irrespective of their socio-economic status, will be covered under it.

He added that so-far 77,000 registrations of beneficiaries have been completed and added that the process of registration is going on and as many as 170 CSC centers are involved in registration of the beneficiaries in the district.

Later, Golden cards were also distributed among beneficiaries by the MP and the DC.

The programme among others was attended by DDCs, ULB members, BDC's and PRI members besides a large number of beneficiaries were also present on the occasion. (KNS)
