Srinagar, Jun 2 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said he was closely monitoring the situation in Kishtwar and Doda districts following flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall and directed officials to restore essential services at the earliest.
In a post on X, Sinha said he had spoken to the deputy commissioners of both districts and asked them to remain on high alert.
"Spoke with Deputy Commissioners of Kishtwar and Doda regarding the flash floods caused by heavy rainfall. Fortunately, no loss of life or property damage has been reported. Emergency response teams have been directed to remain on high alert and continuously monitor the situation," he said.
The lieutenant governor said he had directed the district administrations to ensure the swift restoration of roads, highways and water supply pipelines affected by the weather.

"Field staff and specialised medical teams are on high alert, and damage assessments will begin as soon as field verification is complete," he said.
Sinha also expressed condolences over the death of a woman in Doda district due to a lightning strike.
"My sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Pinki Devi from Khuddhar Doda, who tragically passed away due to a lightning strike. The Deputy Commissioner of Doda has been directed to provide immediate relief and assistance to the family," he said.
Officials said authorities were monitoring the situation in the rain-affected areas and necessary measures had been put in place to deal with any emergency.(KNS)
