LG Sinha chairs high-level meet on International Museum of Goddess at Katra

Jammu, May 21 (KNS): to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review the proposed International Museum of Goddess at Katra, a project aimed at transforming the spiritual landscape of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.

The meeting, attended by members of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) including Mahamandleshwar Shri Swami Vishveshvaranand Giriji Maharaj, Padma Shri Sudha Murty, and other eminent personalities, deliberated on creating a world-class spiritual and cultural landmark, officials said.

The proposed museum will offer pilgrims a deeper understanding of Mata Shakti by blending immersive storytelling, artefacts, and local traditions with modern technology. It will showcase the sacred iconography of 51 Shakti Peethas alongside the nine divine swaroops of Maa Durga, they added.

In a significant decision, the Board approved the creation of a permanent post of Director General to head the museum, along with a dedicated corpus fund for its conceptualisation, development, and operations, an official spokesperson said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
