Says 32 still missing, rescue operation on
Jammu, August 24(KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu on Sunday and met with the injured from the recent cloudburst in Kishtwar.
Speaking to media persons after the visit, the LG said that there are currently 16 injured people admitted to GMC Jammu. "Most of them are stable. I hope that all of them get well and go home soon," he said.
Referring to the incident, Sinha said it was a tragic event in which many people lost their lives. He said the administration is trying to trace the missing persons. "There are still 32 missing people. We are trying to find them. We are making arrangements for their re-entry," he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The LG informed that ?4.3 crore has already been spent on rescue and relief efforts. "We are deeply sorry for the families," he added. "It was a natural disaster. I think it caused a lot of destruction."
When asked about Union Minister Rajnath Singh's visit, he confirmed that Singh would be arriving. "Yes, Rajnath Singh is coming today," he said.
Sinha said that it was difficult to make any predictions. He stated that if the weather conditions were favourable, the visit to the affected area would proceed as planned. Otherwise, the visit would be limited to GMC Jammu.(KNS).
