LG Manoj Sinha leads crucial meeting with Jmu division officials to address development & security challenges, ‘Advocates comprehensive strategy against drug smuggling’

Srinagar, Jan 11 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a meeting with senior officers, Deputy Commissioners (DCs), and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) from the Jammu Division.
 
The meeting delved into a diverse array of issues, with a particular focus on navigating the interconnected challenges of both development and security in the region.
 
Central to the discussions was the pressing need for a thorough strategy to combat the rising threat of drug smuggling.
 
News agency KNS reported that the LG Manoj Sinha articulated a resolute standpoint, underscoring the imperative to dismantle drug smuggling networks, identify and neutralize drug hotspots, and staunchly suppress cross-border smuggling activities.
 
“Beyond the immediate focus on anti-drug measures, the meeting underscored the pivotal role of district administrations in ensuring the effective implementation of government schemes across all border villages. LG Manoj Sinha emphasized the strategic importance of linking the youth in every Panchayat to self-employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, thereby fostering sustainable growth at the grassroots level”.
 
Additionally, LG Manoj Sinha issued a directive for district authorities to regularly compile outcome reports for events such as Block Diwas, Thana Diwas, and other Jan-Abhiyan programs.
 
This strategic directive aims to establish a robust monitoring mechanism, facilitating the systematic assessment of the impact of various initiatives. It highlights the administration's dedication to accountability and efficient resource utilization, ensuring that governmental efforts translate into tangible and positive outcomes for the local populace.

Meanwhile Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off an exposure visit for Secondary and Senior Secondary students from Government schools in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. The 5-day educational tour encompasses a 3-day stay at IIT Kanpur, along with a visit to Regional Science City Lucknow.
 
During this visit, students will have the unique opportunity to delve into cutting-edge technologies such as Robotics, the IT arena, and Artificial Intelligence.
LG emphasized that the exposure would extend beyond technology, allowing students to gain insights into the ongoing research conducted at IIT Kanpur. Moreover, the visit aims to provide students with a broader perspective on various career opportunities available in the field of Engineering and Technology.
 
This educational tour is designed not only to broaden the horizons of the participating students but also to inspire and ignite their interest in the realms of science and technology.
