Legends League Zaloora concludes, promotes sports, discourages drug abuse

Sopore, Sep 10 (KNS): The Legends League Dardpora Zaloora 2025 concluded with great enthusiasm at the Government Higher Secondary School playground, aiming to inspire youth through sports and raise awareness against drug abuse.

In the finale, FCC clinched victory by 3 wickets in a thrilling contest against Agriculture XI, showcasing remarkable talent and sportsmanship.

The event was graced by Chief Guest DDC Tujar, Mohd Muzaffar Dar,DySP Khursheed Wani, Chairman of the Awqaf Committee Dardpora Zaloora, and several senior citizens, who appreciated the community-driven effort to promote a healthier, drug-free society.

While speaking on the occasion, DDC Tujar praised the organisers and assured that some development works will be taken up for the playground to further encourage sports activities in the area.

Guest of Honour, Rayees Ahmad Bhat, Physical Teacher & Senior Coach, along with senior citizens, seasoned cricketers, and hundreds of cricket fans, also marked their presence.

A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament, adding to the competitive spirit and community involvement.

DYSP Khursheed Wani praised the efforts of the organising body for successfully conducting the league and motivating youth towards constructive engagement.

Lone Ishfaq, Coordinator of the Tournament said  the League was organized with a clear Vision -"to promote sports among Youth  channel their energy in the right direction and encourage them to stay away from drugs. 

The organisers extended heartfelt thanks to all participants, guests, and supporters for making the event a grand success.In the concluding ceremony, trophies were distributed among the winning and runner-up teams amid cheers from the crowd. (KNS)
