Srinagar, Sep 13 (KNS): Famous and well-known personality of Shopian area and leading scholar and educationist Master Muhammad Shaban Butt passed away yesterday in Shopian after a short illness. He was 105 years old.
Nimazi jenazah was offered at Eid gah shopian and later he was buried in his native graveyard at the district headquarters.
He was the father of former Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shaukat Ahmed Butt and uncle of Secretary Labor and Employment AIjaz Ahmed Butt.
Political, social and cultural associations expressed their grief and condoled with the bereaved family, by saying that the services rendered by the deceased in the religious and educational fields will always be remembered.
While many personalities of Shopian including civil society members told kns that it is not only difficult but impossible to fill the vacuum created by his departure.
On the death of the deceased, former MLA Shopian Advocate Mohammad Yusuf Butt, former Minister Ghulam Hasan Khan., several senior members of Bar Association Shopian, Traders Federation Shopian, citizens Welfare Society Shopian while expressing grief over the death of the deceased expressed condolences and sympathy with the bereaved family especially his sons Shaukat Ahmed Butt and Latif Ahmed Butt.
Master Muhammad Shaban Butt served as a teacher in education department for a long time and retired from the service. After that, he continued to render valuable services in terms of religious and social services and his valuable services will always be remembered by the people of Shopian area.
On the second day also, the personalities associated with different classes of thought went to Shaukat Ahmed Butt,s House for condolences.(KNS)
