Srinagar, May 16 (KNS): An awareness program was conducted by watershed Management Division LAWDA in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra Srinagar (SKUAST) on “To protect Dal Lake from Eutrophication”.
Sajad Ahmad Ganai Vice chairman LAWDA was chief guest on the function and has addressed the farmers and impressed upon the conservation of Dal Lake.
Dr Rekhi Singh Sr. Scientist KVK srg has addressed the farmers about the emerging problems of fertilizers and pesticides on Dal Lake.
Gazalla Abdullah Project officer watershed Management Division addressed the gathering of farmers and made them aware about the hidden dangers of chemical fertilizers and pesticides on human health and also on the health of Dal Lake.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelShe also highlighted the importance of the Dal Lake, the pride of our valley.
Dr Uzma Bashir (Asst. Professor oil science) has demonstrated the BD compost and MM compost.
Dr Ishtiyaq Ahad (Asst. Professor) also give a talk to farmers about ill effects of chemical fertilizers and pesticides on crops, human health and eutrophication in Dal Lake.
Dr Asima Amin (Asst Professor) has thrown the light on “Adoption of different methods of off season vegetable production”.
The program was concluded with the message that everyone has to take pledge to save Dal and everyone has to contribute for its preservation. (KNS)
