Last lap of Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo Yatra resumes in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jan 29 (KNS): Congress leader and Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi resumed his Bharat Jodo Yatra from Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar on Sunday amid heavy security deployment. 


As per details available with Kashmir News Service (KNS), the Yatra began at 10:45 am from Pantha Chowk toward Lal Chowk. 

Rahul Gandhi was also accompanied by his sister and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. 

The Yatra will cover a distance of 7 Kms up to the Sonwar, where it will halt briefly. 

Later, the Yatra will resume toward Lal Chowk, where Rahul Gandhi will unfurl the national flag. 

Meanwhile, entire area around Lal Chowk has been sealed off and multi-layer security has been deployed around the city.

After Lal Chowk, the yatra will travel to Nehru Park in the Boulevard area of the city, marking an end to the 4,080-km walkathon, which started from Kanyakumari on September 7. 

On Monday, Rahul Gandhi will unfurl the national flag at the party headquarters in Srinagar, following which a public rally will be held at the SK stadium. (KNS)
