Karnah, Mar 19 (KNS): Residents of Karnah on Tuesday expressed anger over lack of CT Scan facility at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tangdhar, and appealed to concerned authorities to look into the matter for the larger interest of patient healthcare.

The locals told KNS that the absence of CT Scan facility has left the local population in distress, especially during in emergency hours.

“The absence of a CT Scan facility in SDH Tangdar has hampered the hospital's ability to provide timely and accurate diagnostic services to the patients, who are compelled to travel long distances to access the services,” locals told KNS and added, “The lack of the service causes delay in diagnosis and treatment to the needy patients”.

General Secretary Civil Society Karnah Waqar Ahmad told KNS that the delay in diagnosis and treatment make significant difference on the health of patients who have no option left to visit far away locations to address their medical emergencies.

He said the absence of the facility not only affects the patients but also places additional stress on the limited healthcare resources available in the region.

The community leaders have appealed to government to prioritize the healthcare needs of the region by ensuring that essential facilities are readily available.

When KNS contacted Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Tanghdar Mohammad Ramazan, he said the matter has already been taken up with higher authorities to address the issue. "Hope the matter will be addressed at the earlies," CMO added.(KNS)
