‘Authorities pushing us to face hardships’

Srinagar, Jul 15 (KNS): The labours working in Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) department on Saturday staged held protest against the authorities for ‘failing to release their wages from past four months’.
The labours assembled at Srinagar’s Press Enclave and chanted slogans against the CA&PD authorities. The protesters demanded immediate release of their wages.
The protesters told KNS that they are facing tremendous hardships as the authorities have withheld their monthly wages since past four months. “We have nothing to eat at home. Our family especially children are facing lot of hardships due to the official apathy,” the protesters said.
“The authorities didn’t release our wages even on Eid and left hundreds of labourers to suffer.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWe approached to our higher ups but unfortunately nothing has been done in this regard,” they said, adding that the authorities are forcing them to hit streets to demand their right.
“We are unable to understand that why the administration is reluctant to release our wages. We work in the department with dedication and honesty but the authorities are ignoring our plights for no reason,” protesters said.
They said that the authorities must release their monthly wages at earliest so that they could feel a sigh of relief.
“We appeal the concerned Minister and other higher ups to look into the matter and fulfil our demands at earliest,” the protesting labourers said.
However, the protesting labourers later dispersed peacefully. (KNS)
