Labour commissioner War distributes Rs 43 lakh among construction workers during B2V III in Gbl


Ganderbal, Oct 07 (KNS): Labour Commissioner Abdul Rashid war today distributed Rs 43 lakhs as Lower Educational Assistance among 540 registered beneficiaries under J&K Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board in Halqa Wayil, during back to village programme 3rd.
The officials, Sarpanch Halqa Wayil, Other frontline workers and public of Halqa Wayil Ganderbal were present on the occasion.
He directed assistant Labour Commissioner Ganderbal to register on-spot the construction workers eligible for registration under the scheme.
Showket Hussain Khan Sarpanch Halqa Wayil, Facilitated the process of registration and 39 workers were immediately registered.
During the visit of Labour Commissioner J&K extensive awareness campaign regarding Labour Laws & Benefits of registration under J&K Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Act was undertaken in the Panchayat Halqa.
The J&K Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board provides assistance to Construction workers in the shape of Scholarships, Assistance for Physical Disability, Assistance for Chronic Disease, Assistance for Injury/Illness, Maternity Assistance, Death and Funeral Assistance, in District Ganderbal during Financial Year 2020-21, Rs 1, 54, 37,000 have been disbursed among 1697 beneficiaries so far, besides COVID-19 Assistance of ?1, 59, 50,000/= in four installments of ?1000/- per active beneficiary.(KNS)
