The Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today reviewed the working of the Rural Development Department and directed concerned authorities for implementation of departmental schemes on the ground in letter and spirit.
The Committee met here under the Chairmanship of MLA, Mian Altaf Ahmed and legislators, M Y Tarigami, Ajaz Ahmed Khan, Abdul Rashid Dar, Mohammad Khalil Band, Syed Farooq Ahmed Andrabi and Zaffar Iqbal Manhas were also present in the meeting.
The Committee observed that the Rural Development is an important department dealing with the concern of rural masses so that measures should be taken for strengthening and implementation of all departmental schemes on ground.
During the meeting legislators gave their suggestions and recommendations for further improving the functioning of the Department.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The Committee directed the concerned authorities to clear all liabilities under the Indira Awaas Yojna (IAY) to the beneficiaries by disbursement of payments to them immediately so that they do not face any inconvenience in this regard.
Secretary, Rural Development Department, Khurshid Ahmed Shah and other field officers attended the meeting and briefed the committee about the working of the department besides various ongoing schemes of the department like MGNREGA, IAY and other schemes being executed by the department.
They also apprised the Committee about the physical and financial achievements of the department.
Accountant General, AGs Office, senior officers of concerned department besides officers and official of Assembly Secretariat were present on the occasion.
