L-G Sinha Chairs High-Level Meet with DCs, SSPs

 JAMMU, APRIL 01 (KNS) : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday called for a ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy against the drug menace in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that dismantling trafficking networks and launching intensive awareness campaigns must be the top priority.

 
Chairing a high-level meeting with Deputy Commissioners, Senior Superintendents of Police, and senior civil and police administration officials at Lok Bhavan here, the Lt Governor directed the enforcement agencies to adopt a multi-pronged strategy to make the UT drug-free.
 
"Action against drug abuse must be our top priority. We need a collective mechanism to safeguard our youth and ensure a healthy future for Jammu & Kashmir," LG Sinha said.
 
The Lt Governor stressed the need to strengthen law enforcement to dismantle trafficking networks, intensify mass awareness campaigns to deter potential users, and enhance treatment, counselling, and rehabilitation facilities.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
He further directed officials to strengthen grassroots intelligence and take coordinated, stringent action against drug smugglers.
 
The meeting also reviewed the series of activities planned under a dedicated three-month campaign as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The Lt Governor exhorted senior officials to lead the campaign from the front and ensure participation from all sections of society and stakeholders to make it a people’s movement.
 
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Principal Secretary Home Chandraker Bharti, Special DG (Coordination) S.J.M Gillani, ADGP Headquarters Shri M.K. Sinha, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary to Lt Governor Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, along with Divisional Commissioners, IGPs, DIGs, Deputy Commissioners, Director Information, SSPs, and other senior officials. (KNS)
