KYJA condemns ‘misbehavior’ of SMHS doctor with female journalist

Srinagar, Sep 22 (KNS): Kashmir Young Journalists Association on Friday condemned the alleged misbehavior of SMHS doctor with a female journalist.
In a statement issued here, the Association said the way a senior doctor at SMHS behaved with journalist, Rabiya Bashir, who works with The Kashmir Monitor is uncalled for and the hospital authorities should take action against the accused doctor.
The doctor at the SMHS hospital misbehaved with the reporter when she was performing her professional duties.
“When I entered the Ward No 15, Dr Saleem Iqbal shouted at me and said, ‘what are you doing here?Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelGet out from here? What will you journalists do?’” Rabiya said.
She said she had gone to the SMHS hospital to meet the victims who sustained injuries in Tral blast on Thursday.
KYJA condemns the act on part of the concerned doctor and has also sought the intervention of Medical Superintendent, SMHS and Principal GMC.
KYJA wants hospital authorities to probe the incident and take action against the accused doctor. (KNS)
