Srinagar, Nov 26 (KNS): Kashmir Women Credit Cooperative Limited (KWCCL) Thursday in collaboration with Help Foundation held a general body meeting of its hundreds of members here.
The meeting was attended by 2500 members of the corporation in which problems, loan schemes, and role of the new members were discussed.
KWCCL is the first women-only bank that lends small loans to underprivileged women to become entrepreneurs. About 400 women have been given small loans till now.
Chairperson of the Help Foundation Nighat Shafi Pandit while speaking during the meeting said that the Cooperative has decided to lower the membership fees for women and also shares.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
She said that many other banks have been roped in to help the women associated with the group for their empowerment. Nighat explained the aims, objectives and present activities of the organization and its future action plan.
A shot play ‘Meti Chi Zev’, directed by Hakeem Javaid, was also staged during the meeting.
Shehjar Theatre Group and Shahjar Resource Community Centre also collaborated with the organizing of the function. (KNS)
