Kupwara, June 13 (KNS) : The Youth Services and Sports (YSS) fraternity of District Kupwara warmly welcomes Anuradha Gupta on her appointment as the Director General, Youth Services and Sports, Jammu & Kashmir.
On behalf of the field staff and sports community,Javaid Ahmad War, working as a Physical Mentor (PM) in the department, extended heartfelt congratulations and expressed optimism that her leadership will usher in a new era of progress and inclusion in the UT’s youth and sports sector.
During the welcome message, War brought attention to several key issues affecting youth development and sports promotion in Kupwara:
Lack of adequate infrastructure, especially in rural and border zones like Keran, Karnah, and Machil.
Underutilization of qualified sports staff, with many Physical Education personnel deployed in non-field roles.

Limited facilities for indoor games, girls’ participation, and winter-specific activities, despite growing interest among youth.
He emphasized the need for reviving inter-zonal tournaments, timely supply of equipment, and the creation of multipurpose indoor sports halls in the district.
The dedication and consistent fieldwork of Javaid Ahmad War as a PM have been widely appreciated across the district. His proactive role in organizing youth events, mentoring students, and highlighting departmental issues has made a notable impact. His efforts reflect the commitment of ground-level staff toward building a strong sports culture despite challenges.
