Kupwara, Nov 13 (KNS): A seminar on “Role of Media towards Society and administration” was organized by Journalist Fraternity Kupwara (JFK) on Thursday at Town Hall Kupwara. The seminar was organized with motive to understand the role of media in a society. Seminar was chaired by district Development Commissioner Kupwara Anshul Garg. He was accompanied by SSP Kupwara Shriram Ambarakar.
Several speakers addressed the galaxy of activists, educationists, senior citizens, reputed personalities of the district, Advocates, public representatives, top officials of the district.
In the seminar speakers congratulated the office bearers of the Journalist fraternity Kupwara as the election was recently conducted in which Yahya Sultan was elected as President of the Fraternity.
Speakers also highlighted the importance of conducting such seminars in their speech. Several office
bearers of JFK were honored by DC Kupwara at the event,The seminar was held under the supervision of Chairman JFK, Javid Iqbal zargar, and General Secretary Kabir Geelani.
In welcome address JFK Chief Spokesperson Pirzada Shakir welcomed all the guests and threw light on the role of media in a society. He said that Constructive approach of media towards society is of vital importance as the media has true link with human society and works as bridge between society and administration Pirzada Shakir later addressed memorandum of the Fraternity to the administration in which a long pending demand of Journalists of Kupwara for establishment of Press Club at Kupwara was made.
President of the Fraternity Yahya Sultan in his address to audiences said that Media is the ultimate hope of people and stressed on free and fair Journalism in the interest of the people. “Media must keep the welfare of the society in focus,” he added and pledges that being President of the fraternity he will
always prioritize the safety and welfare of Journalists working in Kupwara.
DDC Kupwara Anshul Garg in his address assured the Journalist Fraternity Kupwara about the establishment of Press club at Kupwara.
Anshul Garg talked in detail about the role and responsibilities of a Journalist. “Media is a bridge between people and administration hence should work in vanishing gaps between people and administration for future times,” he added.
SSP Kupwara Shriram Ambarkar also addressed the audiences at the event and spoke in large about the role of Journalist in a society. He also said that media should be well equipped with the new trends in
the Journalism.
Mudasir Rashid Vice president of the fraternity thanked all the participants who attended the seminar.
