Kupwara 10 May (KNS): Continuing its war against drug menace  Police party of Police station Trehgam established Naka at Kawari Awoora Trehgam and started checking vehicles & pedestrians.
The Naka party intercepted one person with a vehicle bearing registration No: JK09C-0653 in a suspicious condition who tried to escape from the spot but was tactfully apprehended.

On preliminary questioning, the person disclosed his identity as  Gh Mohd Bhat S/o Mohd Sadeeq Bhat R/o Kawari Awoora

During searches of the said vehicle 80 grams of Heroin has been recovered from his possession and the vehicle seized. Accordingly, legal action has been taken and case FIR No. 37/21 u/s 8/21  NDPS act has been registered in Police Station Trehgam against the accused person, and investigation has taken up. 

This act is hugely hailed by the general public of the area. Kupwara Police once again appeals the people of the District to come forward with the information regarding drug peddlers so that curative steps can be taken against them. Kupwara Police is committed to continuing its efforts and war to make Kupwara District drug free.(KNS)
