Kunzer Hosts Drug Awareness Programme, Calls for Collective Fight Against Drug Abuse

Kunzer, August 9 (KNS): In a significant initiative aimed at creating awareness among young people about the devastating consequences of drug abuse, the Society Reform Organisation J&K organised a Drug Awareness Programme at Town Hall, Kunzer.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from prominent public representatives, police and security officials, civil society members, youth and other stakeholders. The event focused on strengthening collective efforts to prevent drug abuse and encouraging the younger generation to channel their energy towards education, sports, skill development and other constructive pursuits.

The programme was graced by MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah, SP Baramulla Irshad Ahmad Rather, 2IC 2 RR Kunzer S.P. Singh, Chairman Global Youth Foundation Touseef Raina, SHO Kunzer Manzoor Ahmad, and Executive Officer Municipal Committee Kunzer Istiyaq Ahmad, who participated as distinguished guests and speakers.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers underlined the growing need for sustained awareness and community participation to tackle the challenge of drug abuse. They emphasised that protecting young people from addiction requires a united effort involving parents, teachers, community leaders, civil society organisations, security forces and government agencies.

Highlighting the immense potential of the younger generation, the speakers said that with proper guidance, encouragement and opportunities, youth can become powerful agents of positive change and contribute meaningfully to the development of society.

The role of President, Society Reform Organisation J&K, Aejaz Paul, was appreciated for taking the initiative to organise the awareness programme and bringing different sections of society together on an important social issue. The young participants also received appreciation for their enthusiastic involvement and impressive performances during the programme.

The event conveyed a strong and positive message that awareness, education, family support and meaningful opportunities can play a vital role in preventing drug abuse and empowering youth.

The programme concluded with a collective pledge to intensify efforts against drug abuse and promote a healthy, responsible and drug-free society.
