Kunan-Poshpora incident ‘haunting reality of Indian oppression’: Malik

JKLF protests in Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 24 (KNS): Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Friday said that ‘Kunan-Poshpora mass rape is a haunting reality of Indian oppression in Jammu Kashmir.’
In a statement issued to KNS, Malik said, “Savagery exhibited by Indian army at Kunan-Poshpora and no criminal penalized yet exposing the ugly face of Indian democracy in Jammu Kashmir.”
Terming Kunan-Poshpora “mass rape by Indian army” and forces as ‘glaring example of Indian oppression in Jammu Kashmir’, JKLF chairman said, “Indians use attacks on the chastity of women as a war-tactic and Kunan-Poshpora was the beginning of this ugly Indian terrorism in Jammu Kashmir.”
He said that more than two decades have passed but till date no one among those who committed crime at Kunan-Poshpora have been booked or penalized which also clarifies the ‘farce of Indian democracy’ in Jammu Kashmir.
Malik said that attacking chastity of women is considered as a crime all over the world and international community especially the western powers always champion the cause of women empowerment and women rights.
“Ironically, international community, especially the west are not much bothered about the rights of Kashmiri women and even carry out no lip services to condemn the oppression unleashed by Indian state against them in Jammu Kashmir, which is criminal and highly deplorable,” said Yasin Malik.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
