Kulgam March 13:(KNS)  Acting tough against social crimes, Kulgam Police have arrested 05 gamblers from a gambling site and seized ?9020/- stake money from their possession.

A police party of Police Station Qazigund raided a gambling site at village Amaanpora after following an input about gambling activities and apprehended 05 gamblers. They have been identified as Tariq Ahmad Sheikh resident of Aakhran, Mohd Idrees Naikoo resident of Amaanpora Kaatran and Rouf Ahmad Ahangar, Imran Ahmad Bhat and Gulzar Ahmad Sheikh all residents of Kaatran.

Officers have seized playing cards, 04 mobile phones and stake money of ?9020/- from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 48/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.(KNS)
