Srinagar, Mar 01 (KNS): A drug de-addiction awareness programme organised by Kudo association Kashmir was held at Handwara on Sunday . The awareness programme was based on the theme ‘Socio-economic and legal implications of drug abuse’.
The chief guest for function was Kashmir News Service media group Managing Director Mohammad Aslam Bhat he spoke on the occasion and deliberated on the ill-effects of drug abuse and highlighted the need of taking preventive measures to eradicate the menace of drugs and other social evils in the town.
The organisers said the main aim of the programme was to spread awareness amongst the student community to take necessary steps for curbing the drug menace.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Kudo association Chairman Naseer Ud Din Beigh discussed its health aspects and added that if any person is in stressful conditions or facing drug abuse, Kudo association will lend him or her a helping hand by providing counselling and medical facilities free of cost.
Syed Shahnawaz vice president KUDO association Kashmir stressed upon the social and economic aspect of the drug abuse. Faisal Nazir president of KUDO association deliberated upon the legal aspect by making the students aware about narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances act 1985 and the recent draft of drug policy in Jammu Kashmir.
Among other students, locals and instructors were also present on the occasion (KNS).
