Demand his release, condemn silence of KU authorities

Srinagar, Sep 26 (KNS): The students of Kashmir University Tuesday staged protest against the summoning of varsity's PhD scholar, Syed Aala Fazili by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to its headquarter in New Delhi.
According to the KNS correspondent, hundreds of students amid pro-freedom and anti-NIA sloganeering marched inside the varsity premises while carrying banners and placards in their hands.
The student later held a sit-in outside the humanities block in the campus.
Condemning the summoning of Aala Fazili by NIA, the students here demanded his immediate release.
The leaders of students union while addressing the gathering during the protest said that the varsity authorities are maintaining criminal silence over the summoning of Aala Fazili by NIA. "NIA has summoned Aala Fazili today and if such silence continues to prevail over the issue then they could summon more scholars or officials of KU, which we won't allow at any cost," the students said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The protesting students appealed KU administration to break their silence over this issue so that no one from the varsity would be ‘harassed’ in the future.
The students threatened to launch agitation against NIA for summoning PhD scholar. "We will continue to protest in case the NIA fails to release Aala Fazili at earliest," the students said.
Earlier, NIA summoned a Kashmir University scholar to its headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday.
Reports said that Aala Fazili who is pursuing Phd in Pharmacy department was asked to appear at NIA headquarter on Sep 25. Fazili is a resident of Humhama area of central Kashmir's Budgam district. (KNS)
